Pride of Maspalomas 2014

It’s January and I’m already thinking to this year’s Pride of Maspalomas to come. There’s not much time left until May, so you better book your hotel and buy your flight ticket if you want to be present at the best European LGBT pride. The island of Gran Canaria and the sunny Maspalomas start the preparations. I already have my airplane ticket and my hotel is booked so… Maspalomas here I come! Es enero y ya estoy pensando en el Pride de Maspalomas de este año. No hay mucho tiempo hasta mayo, así que es mejor reservar tu hotel y comprar tu billete de avión si quieres estar presente en el mejor orgullo LGBT de Europa. La isla de Gran Canaria y la soleada Maspalomas ya calentan sus motores. Yo tengo mi billete de avión y mi hotel está reservado así que… ¡Maspalomas estoy casi  allí! The landscape of Gran Canaria Island -1-

There are less than 10 days left until I’ll be one more time in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria and I still have many photos from my December-January travel to the island that I did not share with you yet. So, I’ll try to post them until I leave. I share now some photos from our guided trip into the middle of the island, through the mountains.  The landscape is amazing and even if the photos are great, they cannot share the emotions of being there. Llevan menos de 10 días hasta llegar de nuevo a Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, y todavía tengo muchas fotos de mi viaje de diciembre y enero que todavía no he compartido. Por lo tanto, voy a tratar de publicarlas hasta que me vaya. Os comparto ahora algunas fotos de nuestra excursión guiada en el centro de la isla, a través de las montañas. El paisaje es increíble y aún si las fotos son geniales, no se puede compartir la emoción de estar allí. ¡Disfrutad!

You can see, far away, the peak of Teide mountain, the highest peak of Canary Islands which is located in the nearby island of Tenerife: / Se puede ver, muy lejos, el pico de Teide, la montaña más alta de las islas Canarias que se encuentra en Tenerife:

Arucas

After visiting the rum distillery, we had like 30 minutes to discover the beauty of Arucas, its main attraction – the church that dates back from the 17th century (but its actual form was achieved from 1909) and the narrow streets in the nearby. I’m not a religious person, not even a believer as my personal beliefs are miles away from the typical religious ideas, but I admire the achievements of the ancient masons. Many of the churches, cathedrals or monasteries are amazing pieces of engineering genius.

Después de visitar la destilería de ron, tuvimos algunos 30 minutos para descubrir la belleza de Arucas, su principal atractivo – la iglesia que data del siglo 17 (aunque su forma se logró a partir de 1909) y las calles estrechas cercanas. No soy una persona religiosa, ni siquiera un creyente como mis creencias personales están a kilómetros de distancia de las ideas religiosas típicas, pero admiro los logros de los masones antiguos. Muchas de las iglesias, catedrales o monasterios son increíbles pruebas del genio de la ingeniería.
