About the fashion inspiration

Recently, I was asked what are the fashion magazines or blogs that inspire my style and my answer was quick: none and all of them. None, because I don’t really care what Kate Middleton dressed for some ball she attended or Kim Kardashian when she went to the restaurant. I don’t rely on celebrities as they have no normal life (and that’s why they have so many fashion fails at cocktails and galas) . Also most of the fashion magazines promote a list of very exclusive sponsors and so the looks work for very few people: you can’t wear Louboutin 6 inches high heels on a daily basis as you have to walk during that day (while the regular clients of Louboutin apparently don’t) and this is also the reason most of the modern club parties end with the girls wearing their shoes in hand… The same way you can’t go out in winter wearing a skirt without pantyhose or stockings as you’re not immune to the cold weather, even if some lunatic fashionista says so.

But yes, I inspire myself from fashion blogs and websites that promote real people in real life conditions. Usually that blogs without pedigree and very few sponsorships and that websites that freely allow normal people to post their outfits. And to resume, I use common sense when it comes to dressing myself (even if sometimes, I reckon, my outfits are revealing too much skin).

I don’t pretend to be very fashion updated but all my posts (or the massive majority) are made wearing real outfits: normally I walk on the street at least one hour wearing that outfit (as the shooting spots are not that close to my home or besides the shootings I go for some shopping or to do some administrative tasks also). I don’t dress for summer in winter, wearing impossible high heels, then go by car to a place, take some 2 minutes photos and then come back home in the same car… that’s not fashion, it’s bullshit. And, unfortunately, this is happening in many shootings you can see in the fashion magazines. The real fashion should be wearable and chic.

And for the haute couture fashion shows, my opinion is: you watch F1 race, you like it, but that doesn’t mean when you’re in your car you should drive like you’re in the F1 competition. You don’t have the same car, you don’t drive on a circuit.

I hope that answers to the question “what inspires my fashion style”.

Recientemente, me han preguntado cuáles son las revistas o los blogs que inspiran mi estilo de moda y mi respuesta fue rápida: ninguno y todos ellos. Ninguno, porque no me importa como se vistió Kate Middleton por un no-sé-qué baile o Kim Kardashian cuando fue al restaurante. No me inspiro de las celebridades ya que ellas no viven una vida normal (y por eso tienen tantos fallos de moda en cócteles y galas). También, la mayoría de las revistas de moda promueven una lista de patrocinadores muy exclusivos y así los outfits trabajan por muy pocas personas: alguien no puede usar zapatos Louboutin de tacones muy altos a diario ya que tiene que caminar durante ese día (mientras que los clientes habituales de Louboutin, aparentemente, no lo hacen) y ésta es también la razón por que en las fiestas modernas la mayoría de las chicas acaban luciendo sus zapatos en la mano… De la misma manera no se puede salir en invierno con una falda sin pantimedias o medias como nadie es inmune al frío, aunque si algunos fashionistas lunáticos lo dicen.

Pero sí, me inspiro a mí mismo de los blogs de moda y sitios web que promueven gente real en condiciones de la vida real. Por lo general, me inspiro de los blogs sin pedigrí y con muy pocos patrocinios y de los sitios web que permiten libremente que la gente normal publique sus outfits. Y para continuar, yo prefiero hacer uso del sentido común cuando se trata de vestir a mí mismo (aunque a veces, tengo que reconocerlo, mis outfits están revelando demasiada piel).

No pretendo ser muy de moda pero en todos mis posts (o en la gran mayoría) uso ropa que se puede usar de verdad en la vida real: normalmente ando por las calles al menos una hora vestida con el outfit (como los sitios donde hago las fotos no son tan cerca de mi casa o además de los shootings voy de compras o para hacer algunas tareas administrativas también). No me visto con ropa de verano en invierno, con tacones altos imposibles, yendo en coche y bajar solo para tomar 2 minutos algunas fotos en un sitio chulo y luego volver a casa en el mismo coche… eso no es moda, es una mierda. Y, por desgracia, esto está ocurriendo en muchas de las sesiones fotos que se puede admirar en las revistas de moda. La verdadera moda debe ser fácil de llevar y chic.

Y para los desfiles de moda haute couture, mi opinión es: miras las carreras de F1, te gusta, pero eso no significa que cuando estás en tu coche debes conducir como si estuvieras en la competición de F1. Tu no tienes el mismo coche, no conduces en un circuito.

Espero que todo eso aclara la pregunta “que inspira tu estilo de moda”.
